THE
METEOROLOGY AND POLLUTANT DYNAMICS AREA
The
mission of the meteorology and pollutant dynamics area is to
characterise the meteorological processes responsible for climate,
and dispersion and transport of atmospheric pollutants by using
field measures, data from weather towers and air quality monitoring
stations, teledetection data and numerical modelling tools
(meteorological and atmospheric scattering).
The
main research activities undertaken in this area can be grouped into
three main themes:
a)
describing the meteorological processes determining climate and
atmospheric pollution in the Mediterranean region
(b)
monitoring the atmosphere
(c)
adapting and comprehensively methodologies to enable better
environmental monitoring management and improved configuration of
meteorological and atmospheric pollution dispersion models in the
Mediterranean region.
