Scientific profile
Pau Benetó Vallés is a research assistant at the Mediterranean Center for Environmental Studies (CEAM) and a PhD student at University of Valencia. He obtained his master in Atmospheric science, Oceanography and Climate at Stockholm University (Sweden) after graduating in physics at the University of Valencia (Spain). He also has experience in working with the Climatology from Satellites group at University of Valencia, where he characterized a soil moisture climatology over the Jucar River Basin using SMOS satellite data and ERA-Interim reanalysis data.

In his master thesis he studied the influence of the forecast initialization time on the estimate of planetary boundary layer parameters using the HARMONIE-AROME mesoscale model (basis for further production of weather forecast at MET-Norway and SMHI) over the Scandinavian region. Currently he is involved in the VERSUS project within the department of Meteorology and Pollutant dynamics at CEAM; in particular, his work focuses on the atmospheric part of the research.
